A book well worth reading. Blog Marathon Post 9.

Finally, I read a book I should have read ages back: “A Walk To Remember”. Yes, I ultimately read it and did I like it? No, not like, I have fallen head over heels in love with the book.

The characters are so realistic that you can actually feel connected to them in so many ways and by the end of the novel, you feel as though you’ve known them from the beginning of time. The language is so simple which makes the reading all the more enjoyable. And the phrases, "I reckon," and "If you get what I mean" are repeated a lot many times through the course of the book. You might recognize that, or you may not. But even if you do, let me tell you, you really won't mind it and neither will your interest in the book decrease. Yes, it is unputdownable! :)

Jamie and Landon are epic. They redefine the definition of love in the most subtle yet effective way. They can shake your innermost emotions no doubt, but it’s not just them. Every character has a pivotal role in the novel and each one of them, at some point or the other, touch your hearts.

As the author promises, I smiled as well as cried reading the book. It highlights the fact that life is indeed unpredictable. You never know what will happen the next second. You cannot merely exist, but you should LIVE every second of your life. No matter what happens, don’t deter yourself from whatever you’re doing, don’t lose hope and stand up to whatever is confronting you. (Until and unless it’s not a huge rock facing you, that is. :P) Every breath you take should be a fresh start, a new beginning. Be the happy, cheerful person, whatever it takes. Smile a lot. And you actually feel the positive aura radiating within you. (Tried and Tested!) Well, that was the main lesson I learnt from the novel. And, I must say, this book has shot itself to position number one in the “Top Ten Favourite Books” list!

Now that I’m done reading the book, I shall go on and watch the movie.  Yes, I do not watch the movies made based on the stories prior to reading them because I feel movies can really play spoilsport when it comes to your imaginations while reading the particular book.

Keep smiling,
Loads of love. :)
